Nice and trio for the head pair Services C and Consti E, Jennings makes an impressive break – The Voice


Services C and Consti E are both posting 100% records after three games at Spalding and District Snooker League Division One after wins on Thursday night.

The duo are locked on 14 points after securing 4-2 wins, with Services seeing Sutton Bridge A and Consti getting the better of Services A.

Mark Spiller (scr), Jordan Philpott (R14) and Nigel Cherry (O7) were in fine form for Services C, despite a 36 break from Bridge’s Shane Balding (O56).

Consti E’s win was closer, with Martin Anderson (O7) sealing the win in the final frame.

Mike Knight (O28) also featured in this matchup, breaking 39 for the defeated Services A.

Elsewhere in the upper tier, Wayne Dent (O42) made a 25 clearance, Stuart Atkin (O56) sank a 29 break and Mat Smith (O35) netted a 34 break as Holbeach A beat Holbeach D 4- 2.

There was also an incredibly close fight as Pyramid D edged hosts Bourne SC A 4-2.

Two of the five frames ended in a re-spotted black, the last of which as Josh Agger (O7) edged out Oliver Player (O35).

It was an easier day at the office for Bourne SC B as they beat Boundary A 5-1, with Nick Cunnington (O14) sinking a 23 break.

In Division Two, Services D are the only team with three wins to their name.

They got the better of Consti G 4-2, with Kev Tyler (R7), Jake Haslam (scr) and Courtney Boulding (R21) all in winning form.

Two players made 30 breaks at this level, with Jason Rose (O28) also making a 22 clearance, scoring in Services B’s triumph at Gosberton A.

Lester Gaunt (O56) also scored a 30 as his Pyramid B team edged past Donington A 4-2.

Meanwhile, Consti B cruised to a 5-1 win over teammates Consti I in a victory sealed by Martin Fear (scr).

In the Third Division, it is Whittlesey C who have three wins in as many games following a 4-2 win at home to Gosberton C.

The break of the week came at this level, with Steve Jennings (O28) scoring a super 52 in Whittlesey A’s 5-1 win over friendly foes Whittlesey B.

Dougie Lythgoe (O21) also played with a 39 break but his Boundary B side were beaten 4-2 at home by Gosberton D.

Picking up five points was Consti J, who elegantly beat hosts Donington B 5-1 with Les Andrews (R7) scoring a 20 break.

Consti A were also winners, beating Consti D 4-2 despite Martin Perkins’ (O21) 23 break.
